Norway’s salmon negotiator steps down Published: 10 June, 2005
LISBETH Berg-Hansen, the chairperson of the Norwegian Seafood and Aquaculture Federation (FHL) yesterday announced that she is resigning from the post due to criticism from the board over the way that the salmon dispute was handled.
She is also vacating her seat on the FHL Board of Directors.
Atle Eide, deputy chairman of FHL Aquaculture, takes over as chairman of FHL Aquaculture, and Knut Haagensen has been appointed as the new chairman of the FHL, according to a press release from FHL.
The news comes at the same time as the European Commission’s (EC) advisory body, the Anti-Dumping committee was sitting in a meeting in Brussels discussing punitive measures against salmon imports from Norway.
