THE Findus Group has announced the appointment of its first UK managing director since the new seafood giant was created earlier this year.
He is Mark Escolme who will take responsibility for company’s British based frozen food businesses – Young’s Seafood and Findus UK.
Mark Escolme comes with wide experience in industry, with 20 years experience working for major brands and companies in the UK and overseas.
Prior to joining the Findus Group he was most recently group managing director for the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand with S.C. Johnson, which makes a wide range of household goods..
Findus group chief executive Chris Britton, said: ‘Mark brings with him some superb experience and we are delighted to welcome him to the Group. His record of success in growing both established businesses and new ventures will be very valuable to the continued success of Youngs and also in supporting the growth in the UK of the Findus frozen brand, which is being relaunched this autumn.’
Mark said: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of Europes most dynamic food businesses. It is particularly exciting to have the chance to work with Youngs and Findus, which are two of the UKs most energetic and innovative names in frozen food.’
The seafood giant has undergone major structural changes in the past 12 months with some of the original Young’s Grimsby based seafood executives retiring. In June the name Foodvest group was changed to Findus to make a new phase for the business.
