MORAY Liberal Democrats unanimously chose Dominique
Rommel as their prospective candidate for the Scottish
Parliament elections.
Dominique is also a prospective parliamentary candidate on the
regional list in the Highlands and Islands.
The Moray Lib Dems also elected David Sim from Forres as their new
Convener.
Dominique Rommel is 48 and has been living in Shetland since 1993. She
is single and is the managing director of Pharos Atlantic Ltd, a
consultancy company active in the fishing sector. She is a non-executive member of the Shetland Health Board, a trustee of the Shetland Development Trust and a member of the Shetland Transport Partnership.
Dominique is also a member of her local Community Council. In her spare time, she goes boating. She is a qualified workboat skipper and
commercial yachtmaster.
Dominique thanked the Moray Lib Dems for choosing her as their
prospective candidate. “I am looking forward to spending a lot of time
in Moray; it is a beautiful region and I hope to use the harbour
facilities next spring. I also look forward to meeting the Moray
fishermen again whom I taught at the North Atlantic Fisheries College as well as the fishermen’s leaders whom I met during our many trips to the Brussels fishing negotiations.”
