Inshore Fisheries Seminar Published: 12 October, 2006
THE issues and opportunities surrounding the local Scottish inshore fishing industry will be discussed at a seminar in Peterhead next month.
The event, hosted by the East Grampian Coastal Partnership, will include discussion on the Strategic Framework for Inshore Fisheries in Scotland as well as Workshops on selling local seafood and inshore fisheries science.
The importance of inshore fisheries should not be under-estimated as three out of every four Scottish fishing vessels fish in inshore waters, which are amongst the most productive in the world.
Project Officer for the East Grampian Coastal Partnership, Ian Hay, said this is an excellent opportunity for fishermen and anyone with an interest in the industry to have their say on important issues and learn from a wide range of interesting speakers.
The event will be held in Peterhead on Wednesday 1st November 2006 and entry is free. Registration will be at 10.00 am and it is anticipated the Seminar will close by 4.00 pm.
