Humber Seafood Summit gearing up for September Published: 26 June, 2012
Seafish is looking ahead to Humber Seafood Summit 2012 on the 19th and 20th September, hosted at the Humber Seafood Institute.
This two-day event is funded by Seafish and arranged by a partnership of organisations in the Humber Seafood Group. The event will bring together a panel of respected industry and National Government speakers and delegates from across Europe.
The theme for this years event is The Big Issues, with a full programme of presentations planned to stimulate in depth debate on key industry issues and encourage sharing of expert knowledge.
Dr Paul Williams, Chief Executive of Seafish, said: We are delighted to be playing an integral role in the delivery of this years Humber Seafood Summit. Grimsby is a vital centre of activity for the UK seafood industry, so it seems fitting that the event should be hosted here. With speakers from organisations such as Youngs representing industry and the Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) bringing and NGO perspective, we are sure that the event will provide an excellent opportunity to focus the eyes of the global industry on our efforts to improve quality, sustainability and profitability in the UK.
Anita Barker, Chairwoman of the Humber Seafood Group, said: This event is undoubtedly the highlight of our calendar within the Humber Seafood Group. Last years event enjoyed great attendance and support from industry, and this year is set to build on that success. We are grateful to all of the organisations that have come together to make this event a success, and look forward to announcing the final programme in the very near future.
