THE Icelandic Group has closed the offices of subsidiary company Icelandic Germany and 22 staff have been given notice as part of a drive to streamline operations, although the Icelandic Group will continue to support its extensive sales and marketing operations in Germany.

Annual savings due to the closure of Icelandic Germany are expected to be between 2.2 and 2.5 million Euros, although the closure itself is estimated to cost between 1.5 and 2.0 million Euros.

Last year the Icelandic Group confirmed its purchase of Pickenpack & Hahn, after having bought the entire shareholding in Pickenpack – Hussman & Hahn Seafood, Germany’s largest frozen seafood producer. is published by Special Publications.
