Fraserburgh prawn auction prices fall Published:  06 December, 2007

PRAWN auction prices at Fraserburgh today fell back following yesterday’s encouraging start to the new selling system.

Large prawns sold from £130-£90, per box with medium at £80-£71 and small £53-£38. Tails were £122-£100.

Lower prices were being attributed to a heavier landing, plus the fact that there have been strong prawn landings over the last couple of days. There were 125 boxes on offer today.

In total 33 boats landed 1,185 boxes at Fraserburgh today. According to the market, the quality was good, demand was good and boats were mixed.
