Fishermen rescued after boat runs aground Published:  06 August, 2013

Four fishermen were rescued from the fishing vessel ‘Prospect’ which ran aground just north of Lerwick Harbour, Shetland.

Shetland Coastguard received a call from the harbour master just before 6pm this evening, reporting the incident.

The Lerwick RNLI lifeboat recovered the crew of four and no injuries were reported.

The ‘Prospect’ has since sunk. Decisions are yet to be made regarding a salvage or recovery plan for the stricken vessel. The Maritime & Coastguard Agency Counter Pollution team are monitoring the situa
