ANNABEL Karmel, a UK leading author on children’s food and nutrition, has been enlisted as an ambassador for The SuperHumans campaign to help encourage parents and kids to eat more fish, Seafish announced today.

Annabel Karmel MBE, is author of 15 best-selling books on nutrition and cooking for babies, children and families. She regularly writes for The Times, Daily Mail and Mother & Baby and also appears on BBC 1’s Saturday Kitchen and BBC 2’s Working Lunch, Channel 5’s Cooking the Books and Channel 4’s Richard and Judy.

The SuperHumans were created by Seafish to make children, and their parents more aware of the health benefits of seafood. The characters have made appearances throughout the UK at schools and supermarkets to help get across messages about the benefits of eating fish to kids and their parents. There is also a dedicated website which features recipes and tips.

Karen Galloway, marketing manager for Seafish said: “Obesity has become a major problem among children and it’s important we remind parents how important a role fish and seafood can play in a healthy, balanced diet. Annabel’s recipes and tips are a great tool for us to reach mums and dads across the UK and we hope The SuperHumans will really encourage kids to try something new.”
