BILLINGSGATE’S Charlie Caisey has been rewarded in the New Year Honours List and is to receive an MBE for his services to fishmongering. This includes the work he carries out for the Billingsgate Seafood School to help it continue to deliver free training programmes for young people and those wanting to get into the trade.

Alf Carr, the Director-General of the British Frozen Food Federation, has been awarded an OBE for his services to the food industry.

Commenting on the award, Mr Carr said: “It is a great honour for me but also a tangible recognition of the standing of BFFF in political and regulatory areas of influence. The award is a tribute to the BFFF team and also to the strategic direction determined by our elected officials over the last few years in particular.” is published by Special Publications.
