AQUACULTURE DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

Package: £35,000 – £50,000. Location: Stanley, Falkland Islands

This is a rare opportunity to be the first aquaculture professional to work in a very rich, undeveloped aquaculture environment, encouraging and benefiting from a highly entrepreneurial business culture.

The Falkland Islands are a small, economically energetic UK Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic. The Falkland Islands Development Corporation (FIDC) is responsible for encouraging economic development, including the ex-pansion of existing aquaculture interests.

THE ROLE

Work with local businesses and FIDC to identify opportunities

for aquaculture and bring them to fruition.

Add value to existing aquaculture activities through value-added processing, identifying market opportunities, etc.

Develop a Falkland Islands aquaculture strategy.

THE PERSON

Five years’ experience in the aquaculture industry, with

a proven track record of commercial development.

Energetic, with a solutions-based philosophy and ‘feet

on the ground’ approach, able to operate in a remote

environment without many supporting services.

Degree in a relevant subject; financially literate.

This is a 2-year contract, renewable by mutual agreement.
