A SPOKESWOMAN for the Scottish Executive said today that EC state aid approval was still not forthcoming for Scotlands £10million transitional aid scheme for the fishing industry.
Asked about the chances of extending the scheme until the end of the year, given that payments have been obviously delayed by lack of EU approval, she said:The timescale for the payments was from March 1 until the end of August.
Any extension of this timescale for transitional aid is a decision for ministers and the priority is to get state aid approval as soon as possible.
The spokeswoman added that Scottish decommissioning bids were still being ranked and evaluated.
