6th Icelandic Fisheries Awards open for entries Published: 20 June, 2014
The Icelandic Fisheries Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievement in the Icelandic and International fishing industries, across a variety of specialist categories.
Hosts, Ministry of Industries and Innovation and the City of Kópavogur, will be present to announce the winners of the awards at the Awards Ceremony on the opening night of the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition on 25 September 2014.
Companies that have launched a product in the last three years that has made a significant contribution to the fishing industry are invited to enter as are fisherman, who can nominate such a product.The awards are divided into two main categories: Icelandic companies and non-Icelandic companies and the full list is available on www.icefish.is, as is the awards entry form, and will be judged by a panel of cross-sector industry experts. Guests will be welcomed by the hosts with canapés and refreshments whilst networking with colleagues and business associates. A short presentation will follow to announce the winners and networking will continue for the evening.Launched in 1999, the stature of this event has continued to grow over the years and winning an award is now seen as an accolade which assists in the promotion of companies, products and brands.The 2014 Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition, the 11th in the series, will be held from 25-27 September 2014 at Smárinn, Kópavogur, Iceland and is already sold out; a waiting list is now available for any exhibitors who would still like to have the chance to exhibit.
